Harry Fane Cartier Diamond Tank Wristwatch

This model is characterised by a very open rectangular dial and by the elegant rounded corners to the gold case. Known at its creation in 1922 as The Tank “À Bords Arrondis” (with rounded edges) it was dubbed the Tank LC or Tank Louis Cartier from 1924.

Whilst Cartier has a long history making diamond set watches, the use of diamonds to enhance gentleman’s watches did not become fashionable until the late 1960’s. Thereafter, Cartier incorporated diamonds into many of their models. This example is dated c.1980

Watch dimensions: 20.7mm width and 19.7mm length 27.9mm inc. lugs and 6.3mm depth.
