Harry Fane Vintage Cartier Tank Lc, 1970’s
Harry Fane is well know for his vintage watch and jewellery collections. Since 1978 he has been collecting pieces from Cartier Golden Years of the 1920s & 1930s. He is recognised as a world authority in this field with a special emphasis on the objets d'art.
This model is characterised by a very open rectangular dial and by the elegant rounded corners to the gold case. Known at its creation in 1922 as The Tank “À Bords Arrondis” (with rounded edges) it was dubbed the Tank LC or Tank Louis Cartier from 1924. This example is dated to late 1970’s.
Silvered dial signed Cartier Paris with radial black Roman numerals and blued ‘Épée’ hands with inner minute track Chemin de Fer. Signed ‘Paris’ under the six. A beaded winder with sapphire cabochon Original dial 18kt Yellow Gold
