Harry Fane Cartier Biagnoire 1967

In 1902 Cartier opened a London branch at 4 New Bond Street. In 1951 Cartier produced their first Tank which was a tribute to Louis Cartier. Whilst all London models were closely related to the Paris Tank’s, Cartier London made modifications which make these watches easily identifiable as London production. The first of these modifications was the removal of the “Chemin de fer” (minute track), giving these watches a clean and open dial. Cartier produced an oval watch in 1913. However the term “Baignoire” was first recorded in 1956 when a series of new model watches were launched. This watch was made by Cartier London and is part of that important series of watches which were unique to the London production. This watch is dated 1967.
