Kasmira’s Moon, the magical world where these precious characters live, is a universe of kindness, compassion, gratitude, empathy and love. Each piece is a “precious talisman” for the soul, which, Jefford hopes, will remind us to bring these attributes into our own lives.
The journey to Kasmira’s Moon talismans began while Jefford was a fine-art student at Central St. Martin’s, where she produced an illustrated small edition fairytale about a princess named Kasmira – after her niece.
The book, which grew from the artist-designer’s interest in philosophy, spirituality and mythology, featured etchings of dragons, birds and other magical figures. Jefford later shared Kasmira’s world with her children as bedtime stories.
