Dover Street Market proudly presents the second edition of DSM “Jewellery Market”, an initiative spotlighting emerging creative jewellery talents from around the globe – showcasing the very best of the next generation of jewellery designers working today. In collaboration with a number of internationally renowned colleges, schools, and programs, 36 students and recent graduates have been invited to exhibit their work at DSM.
Joel de Flores is a jewellery designer and graduate of Escola Massana, whose work explores identity, transformation, and the emotional relationship between the body and adornment. Through experimental materials and sculptural forms, he creates contemporary jewellery that blurs the boundaries between art and wearable object. Pieces such as My Blood (Sangre mía), a necklace composed of seven red enamelled electroformed rings with cotton ribbon, and I Am Something Else (Soy otra cosa), featuring glazed porcelain elements and waxed cord, reflect themes of personal metamorphosis, vulnerability, and self-expression.
