Dover Street Market proudly presents DSM “Jewellery Market”, a new initiative spotlighting emerging creative jewellery talents from around the globe – showcasing the very best of the next generation of jewellery designers working today. In collaboration with a number of internationally renowned colleges, schools, and programs, 34 students and recent graduates have been invited to exhibit their work at DSM.
Caitlin Murphy is a Northern Irish, third-generation silversmith who graduated with First-Class Honours from the Glasgow School of Art in 2022. She furthered her craft through a two-year fellowship with the Bishopsland Educational Trust and is currently an Artist-in-Residence at GSA.She draws inspiration from geometry, mathematics, optical illusions, and everyday patterns; translating what she initially experimented with in paper and aluminium cans into precise woven metal sculptures that blur the line between jewellery and art objects.
Her work explores weaving and folding ultra-fine metals such as sterling silver, niobium, brass, copper, titanium, and aluminium, often combining anodising and mixed-metal techniques within steel and silver frames to create unique, meticulously crafted wearable sculptures.
