Dover Street Market proudly presents the second edition of DSM “Jewellery Market”, an initiative spotlighting emerging creative jewellery talents from around the globe – showcasing the very best of the next generation of jewellery designers working today. In collaboration with a number of internationally renowned colleges, schools, and programs, 36 students and recent graduates have been invited to exhibit their work at DSM.
Namju's collection is inspired by the fragile world beneath the sea, this collection reflects the changing colours of coral reefs as they respond to rising ocean temperatures. In moments of extreme stress, corals glow in vivid fluorescent hues before fading to grey a final stage before death. What appears beautiful is, in fact, evidence of environmental collapse. Through these pieces, Namju asks us to reconsider our perception of beauty and reflect on the cost at which it exists.
